RECLAIM

Protecting what matters—and gaining a voice.

Reassurance, clarity, trust.

This page separates what would not change from what would change—so people can engage based on facts, not fears.

What does NOT change

  • Bermuda keeps control of immigration policy
  • There is no automatic free movement of labour
  • The UK retains responsibility for defence and external security
  • Bermuda’s laws, identity, and institutions remain Bermudian

What DOES change

  • Bermuda gains a voice and vote at regional decision-making tables
  • Access expands to regional programmes, funding, and partnerships
  • Bermudians help shape decisions that already affect the island

Bermuda would participate selectively, as other CARICOM members do. Full membership does not require joining every element of the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME).

This approach reflects consultation with unions, businesses, educators, and experts.

“Reclaiming our place does not mean giving up control.”
